BONFIRE NIGHT!

Hoy 5 de noviembre se celebra en Gran Bretaña Bonfire Night ó Guy Fawkes Night, así que nosotros también lo vamos a celebrar.



En primer lugar propongo contar a los alumnos la historia de Guy Fawkes.

"El 5 de noviembre de 1605 un grupo de católicos, al que pertenecía Guy Fawkes, intentaron matar al rey. Para matarlo pusieron una bomba en el Palacio de Westminster, que es el Parlamento de Londres. Pero justo antes de que sucediera algo, les pillaron y ejecutaron a Guy Fawkes."

"On 5th November 1605  a man called Guy Fawkes and a group of Catholics tried to kill King who was Protestant. Guy put a bomb under the Houses of Parliament, in London, but he was discovered and  executed."

Por tanto, el 5 de noviembre se celebra haciendo hogueras en las que queman muñecos y lanzando todo tipo de fuegos artificiales.

En el siguiente vídeo podemos ver como lo celebran y escuchar una rima muy famosa de Bonfire Night:

Las diferentes actividades que propongo para Bonfire Night son en primer lugar contar la historia a los alumnos y leer el poema par trabajar el vocabulario que se puede complementar con una ficha de colorear con el nombre debajo.
Y en segundo lugar proponer a los alumnos que hagan un dibujo libre con el vocabulario trabajado. Os dejo un dibujo que me ha gustado especialmente y que muestra lo que es Bonfire Night.
